Lifestyle of a Microlink Artist

masterofbraidlessacademy

It's a no-brainer that the job we choose should be in direct correlation with the lifestyle we desire for ourselves. When I first began this career I knew that I wanted a certain lifestyle: be there for my kids, travel, take off when I want, you know those things. What I didn't know is what area of the beauty industry that I would land in that would create the lifestyle that I wanted.

When I entered the industry I was fascinated with hair extensions. At the time I only knew about sew-ins. It wasn't until I started working for this hair extension salon that dealt with all types of hair extensions that I became familiar with Braidless, Microlinks, tape-ins and i-tips. After I became familiar with these methods the braidiess sew-in which is now the braidless microlinks was my favorite. The braidless method became my area of focus for my business.

As I begin to focus on being a microlink artist or shall I say a Braidless Microlink artist, my business began to grow in numbers tremendously.

Through the years as a braidless Microlink artist I've been able to:

  • Decrease my work days from a 5 day workweek to a 3 to 3.5 day workweek

  • Travel with my son with his basketball and attend almost every game or tournament while he was growing up.

  • Attend many school events for my kids.

  • Take 2 week vacation multiple times a year.

  • Take off the entire Christmas break with kids.

  • Take a vacation once every quarter.

  • I can work on my business and not always in it.

  • Started my own online academy to teach beauty pros braidless and business.

  • Started my own hair bonnet line (although ours aren't called bonnets).

  • Pay off over 30k of debt in a little over 3 years .
